Abstract

Application of the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) Learning Model to Improve Activities and Increased Learning Outcomes Mathematics for Class VII 1 SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru Yana Alfiyah 146410839 Thesis of Mathematics Education Study Program FKIP Islamic University of Riau Main Advisor: Drs. Abdurrahman, M.Pd. ABSTRACT This study aims to improve the learning process and students' mathematics learning activities and increased students' mathematics learning outcomes through the application of the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) Learning Model in mathematics learning for class VII 1 SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru on the Triangle material. This type of research is Classroom Action Research conducted in 2 cycles. The data collection instruments in this study consisted of observation sheets, student activity questionnaires, and learning outcomes tests. The results showed that the percentage of students' learning activities in mathematics class VII 1 SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru before the action was 59.45%, after the first cycle increased to 66.46%, then increased again in the second cycle to 71.38%. The results also showed an increase in students' average mathematics learning outcomes from 59.13 on the basic score to 60.05 after the first cycle and again increased to 82.28 after the second cycle. The percentage of the number of students who completed also increased from 30% in the basic score to 42.5% after the first cycle and 65% in the second cycle. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it was concluded that the application of the Student Facilitator and Explaining (SFE) learning model could improve the learning process and students' mathematics learning activities and increased the mathematics learning outcomes of class VII 1 SMP Negeri 35 Pekanbaru.
