Abstract

Raudhatul Athfal Marpoyan Damai Kindergarten was established in 2009, which is located at the Jl. Pahlawan Kerja , Simpang Tiga, Marpoyan Damai sub-district in Pekanbaru, Riau. This Kindergarten is a private institution that aims to make children's learning places become a children who are religious, smart and have skills. The process of teaching and learning dance in early childhood has six meetings and an allocation of 30 minutes. The aim of learning dance in early childhood is not only to shape children as professional dancers, but to aim as a vehicle to help prepare children to be more creative. Moreover, in dance learning with the theme of planting corn, the teacher can provide the formation of the character of a religious child who is grateful for what he already has, works harder in memorizing dances, trains cooperation, and trains children's confidence to appear in public In dance learning to plant corn, the teacher must use the right method so that it is easier for students to more easily understand the learning taught by the teacher. In the process of learning this dance the teacher takes the dance title of planting corn because this dance is in accordance with the theme that will be taught by the teacher, namely the theme of work, with sub-themes of farm laborers. simple and easy movements to emulate by students. The research method used is descriptive analysis with qualitative data, the data obtained are data from the findings in the field using observation, documentation, and interview techniques. In the process of planting corn dance learning, the problem that children faced in the dance teaching is the difficulty of memorizing the movements of the corn planting dance which has been exemplified because children are tired of learning, children prefer playing, hyper active children making the process of teaching planting corn dance become more difficult. The assessment carried out in teaching of planting corn dance by AL-Kautsar kindergarten teachers is a type of performance evaluation and star rating.
