Abstract

Upon the execution of the grand election year 2017, the government office of the Tenayan Raya disrict which is the election commitee of sub-district in this case, faced difficulties. The mentioned difficulties were the insufficient of apparatus, insufficient knowledge of the committee leader in data entry and validation of the potential grand election voters list (DP4) which led to more mistakes that results in unregistered residents in the the data which was determined by the grand election commission(DPT). This problem could be due to the system of the Grand Election Commission which was the voters' Information data system(Sidalih). The purpose of this research in the observation of the voters' data updating in the grand election of the mayor and the deputy mayor of Pekanbaru in Tenayan Raya in year 2017 which used quantitative method with the researching and surveying type. Researching and surveying was limited to researches of consodilated datas of samples or populations to research the overall population in the complete researching survey which took samples of a population by using questionaires as a tool of basic data consilidation and this surveying research lead to researches in the making of the list of questions which is in the form of a questionaire above to be distributed to populations or samples that have been determined. The results of the committee task research of data updating in the Tenayan Raya sub district, pekanbaru city, was in good category. This could be seen from the carrying out of duties of the KPU Pekanbaru and it’s authority in relate of determinating the permanent voters’ list which wasn’t optimal enough as there were still people who already had the right to vote but were not accommodated in the voter list as well as duplicated votes. Therefore, KPU Pekanbaru should make efforts to improve the ability of its technical organizers by providing technical guidance (Bimtek) or training on an ongoing basis.
