Abstract

The purpose of this research is to improve the Biology learning outcome of students grade VII3 SMPN 33 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2017/2018 with the implementation of the guided inquiry learning model that was implemented on April 06, 2018 until May 26, 2018 of grade VII3 students of SMPN 33 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2017/2018 which amounts to 35 students consist of 17 male students and 18 female students. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). Parameters measured are student learning outcomes in the form of absorption and mastery learning students that consist of individual mastery and classical. The data were analyzed descriptively to determine the absorption and mastery learning students to the value of knowledge understanding of the concept (Cognitive) and the value of scientific performance (Psychomotor). Absorption value of knowledge understanding of the concept students before CAR 73,29% increase in the first cycle to 78,45% with an increase of 5,16% and the second cycle had increased to 83,13% with an increase of 4,68%. Classical completeness value of knowledge understanding of the concept students before CAR 57,14% increase in the first cycle to 74,29% with an increase of 17,15% and the second cycle had increased to 88,57% with an increase of 14,28%. Absorption value of scientific performance students before CAR 74,29% increase in the first cycle to 77,94% with an increase of 3,65% and the second cycle had increased to 84,02% with an increase of 6,08%. Classical completeness value of scientific performance students before CAR 65,71% increase in the first cycle to 80% with an increase of 14,29% and the second cycle had increased to 91,43% with an increase of 11,43%. Can be concluded that the application of guided inquiry learning can improve learning outcomes of grade VII3 students of SMPN 33 Pekanbaru Academic Year 2017/2018.
