Abstract

The Impact Of Illegal Tin Mining On Decreasing the Quality of River Water (Case Study in Sungai Buluh Village, West Singkep District, Lingga Regency, the Province of Riau Islands) Abstract Febi Sasmita NPM : 177510673 The presence of illegal tin mines creates problems, it is due to the impact caused by illegal tin mines, namely the decrease in the quality of river water. The water in the river turns brown and the amount of mud in the riverbed makes the river bed narrower. This study aims to gain knowledge about the impact of illegal tin mining on decreasing river water quality, and it is felt by the community around the environment. The method used in this research is a qualitative method, by conducting interviews to key informants and informants who related to the topic. The impact of this illegal tin mining is the river water pollution, the river is not function as a source of clean water for the community around the area. This water pollution also has an impact on decreasing environmental function and damaging the ecosystem in the river. There is no education regarding the dangers of waste generated by illegal tin mining by the relevant agencies and there is the lack of attention from the agencies concerned with pollution and environmental damage. Green Criminology is the theory that used in this research to see the phenomena that occurs due to pollution and environmental damage in a river where the illegal tin mining waste is dumped and it is located in Sungai Buluh Village.
