Abstract

Stealing is a villainy which directed toward someone property or assets. Stealing is basically the type of crime that most often occurs in the midst of people's lives. Although the act of stealing is not a crime that is classified as a serious crime, it can cause a big restlessness in the society, especially for those who reside in the area where the theft occurred. Based on the facts, this study aims to find efforts to prevent the act of stealing that occurred in the Desa Hidup Baru cooperative. The type of research is descriptive qualitative using qualitative methods, namely descriptive research. The most practical way to do this research is by conducting in-depth interviews. According to Bungin (2007: 108), in-depth interviewing is a process of obtaining information for research purposes by means of question and answer while face to face between the interviewer and the informant or the person being interviewed, with or without using an interview guide. In this research, the researcher make a key informants and informants as the object of research. Because by conducting interviews with the key informants and informants, the researcher can get the answers as research results related to the prevention of stealing palm oil. To overcome the problem of stelaing the palm oil that it does not happen in further time, the Sungai Pagar police sector is further enhancing its role in eradicating stelaing the palm oil by following the existing steps, providing appropriate sanctions according to the actions of the perpetrators to get a deterrent effect. And for the Desa Hidup Baru Sungai Pagar cooperative unit to enhances its role in tackling the crime stealing of palm oil on community plantations by carrying out programs and various guidance carried out by environmental security officers so that no officers find it difficult when catching palm oil theft perpetrators in the environment plantation. Meanwhile, preventively in dealing with the problem of theft, the security forces in the environment reduce people who are able to handle the problem of palm oil theft in the community plantation environment.
