Abstract

Adjective is a word that gives more specific information about something stated by a noun in a sentence. The reason for the author choose the title because this research has never been studied before. Based on the phenomenon that the author found in the field shows adjectives the Malay Malay language of the dialect of Kampung Besar Seberang Rengat District Indragiri Hulu Regency has adjectives, one of which is seen from In terms of its syntactic behavior it has three functions, namely attributive, predictive, and adverbial. Formulation The problem in this study is how are adjectives Riau Malay language dialect of Kampung Besar Seberang Rengat District Indragiri Hulu Regency is in terms of its syntax and in terms of behavior semantically. This study aims to describe, analyze and interpret adjectives found in the dialect of Riau Malay language Kampung Besar Seberang, Rengat District, Indragiri Hulu Regency in terms of Syntactically and in terms of Semantic behavior. This type of research is qualitative with Descriptive Methods. Data collection techniques in this study are Observation and Fishing. The sample in this study is Total Sampling. Results Research obtained by adjectives in terms of syntactic behavior consists of functions attributive for example the betine cantɛʔ tu dudok in front of uma'e. Whereas adjectives in terms of semantic behavior it consists of standard adjectives, for example, runway the boat of kəmaʀɛn is safe and the non-standard adjective is even in the realm of gaəb. Conclusions: (1) Adjectives in terms of syntactic behavior consist of functions attributive, predictive function, and adverbial function or description. (2) adjectives of in terms of semantic behavior it consists of standard adjectives and non-standard adjectives. It is recommended for further research to conduct research that examines morphological fields in terms of adjectives and their shape and are more selective in determining the time to interview informants and to parties library to add library books in terms of language Malay.
