Abstract

Character education arises because the education process has not been fully fulfilled or succeeded in forming and building people who have character values, namely students who are more prioritized. The problem in this research is how is the value of character education in a collection of Bengkalis folklore? And what is the relationship between the value of character education in a collection of Bengkalis folklore with literary learning in class X of SMAN 1 Bantan. The purpose of this study is to describe, analyze, and interpret the values of character education in a collection of Bengkalis folklore and its relationship with literary learning in class X of SMAN 1 Bantan. The theory in this study is the value theory of character education Hasaannudin Ws (2015), Mustari (2014), Mansur (2014), Rafiek (2012). The method used is descriptive method. The approach used is a qualitative approach and this type of research is library research (Libarary Research). The results of this study can be concluded that the value of character education from the aspects of faith and piety contained in the indicator of belief in God Almighty, doing commands and leaving the prohibition of God. The relationship with literary learning is to shape the character of students who believe in truth from God, work on orders and stay away from their prohibitions so that students are able to grow well because they apply the character values of faith and piety. The value of the character education aspect of honesty contained in the indicator says what it is, acts on the basis of truth, is responsible, and holds promise. The relationship with literary learning is to shape the character of students to be responsible for what they do. The value of intelligence character education contained in this study that has indicators is able to find solutions and positive thinking. The relationship with literary learning is to shape the character of students when doing a task carefully, precisely and quickly. The value of the toughness character contained in this study is the character of toughness which is indicative of the behavior of obedient to the rules, the courage to bear the risk, patience, hard work, not easily discouraged. The relationship with literary learning towards students is to teach children to not be easy to despair, never give up. The value of character education in the aspect of concern contained in this study is the value of caring caring that is forgiving, and good manners, likes to help, The relationship with literary learning towards students is to instill or apply character values of caring for older people.
