Abstract
Therapeutic Communication is the communication done conciously for the sake of patients’ recovery. In the case of psychiatric, therapeutic communication is conducted by reforming the patients’ personality and curing their mental disorders. The problem being discussed in this research is how is therapeutic communication of nurse in the treatment process of schizophrenia type hallucination patient. This research used qualitative method. The researcher used purposive sampling in selecting the subjects. Informants of this research were nurses who work for 10 years more or less and have direct role in taking care of schizophrenia type hallucination patient. Data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The results of this research show that therapeutic communication done by nurse in the treatment process of schizophrenia type hallucination patient nurse using three stage namely the orientation phase, the work phase, the termination stage and each nursing action plan uses four techniques namely rebuking, conversing with others, carrying out scheduled activities, and using drugs regularly. The purpose is to assist the patient to be able to control or pravent hallucination that appear in a trained way. Which becomes an obstacle when therapeutic communication in the healing process of schizophrenia type hallucination patient is when the hallucination of patient arise so that the patient is busy with his own world so that nurse find difficult to interact with patient.
