Abstract

This study aims to find out the Waste Management in the Office of Environment and Hygiene pekanbaru city and inhibitory factors in the Office of Environment and Hygiene Pekanbaru City. Indicators the author uses include objectives in activities, methods and times in the implementation of kegaiatan, socialization of activities, preparation of various activities, determination of certain tasks according to each unit, to prepare the organization to run well, Socialization of Movement or implementation, monitoring of kegaiatan. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative research methods of analysts. Where conducting research in the Office of Environment and Hygiene Pekanbaru city in order to get problems that exist based on actual facts when researching using descriptive research types with observations, interviews, and documentation as a data collection tool. The technique of withdrawing the researcher's informant is done by using purposive sampling techniques that are in accordance with certain criteria, namely through people directly involved in waste management in the Office of Environment and Hygiene pekanbaru. Based on the research conducted obtained the results that the Management of Waste in the Office of Environment and Cleanliness pekanbaru city has been implemented well. This can be seen from the application of management perspective that plays an important role in the whole waste management process ranging from planning, organizing, movement or implementation and supervision but in the process of waste management is still lacking, responsible waste management and encouraging the community to engage in waste management, that the problem of waste in Pekanbaru City will not be solved if it is only dependent on the government alone , and therefore needs community support and participation in waste management. Advice from researchers for the government on waste management to conduct banners on waste disposal sanctions, routinely perform hand-catching operas,fleet inspections routine, routinely conduct socialization for the community in terms of waste control and the existence of waste bank activities, for the community is expected to start so as not to litter and apply 3R, namely Reuse, Reduce, and Recycling with the activities of waste banks.
