Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the supervision of the dissemination of public information through online media carried out by the Department of Communication, Informatics and Statistics of Riau Province and what factors hinder the implementation process. The indicators used in the research include standard setting, determining the measurement of activity implementation, comparing implementation with standards and analysis of deviations, taking corrective action. This research is descriptive using qualitative research methods with descriptive qualitative analysis techniques, namely analysis by providing a clear picture based on the facts found and using data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The types and sources of data used consisted of primary data collected using interview and observation techniques, then secondary data by collecting internal data, online data and related data. Based on this analysis technique, the researcher concluded that the supervision of the dissemination of public information through online media by the Riau Province Information and Statistics Office with the assessment has not been implemented properly, from several indicators it is necessary to improve in order to maximize the implementation of activities. Recommendations that need to be considered are to increase the standard setting for the implementation of supervision on the dissemination of public information through online media, as well as conducting more campaign activities and outreach to online media and the public so that public knowledge of information dissemination through online media is evenly distributed.
