Abstract

This study aims to find out about how the use of Google classroom as a learning medium between lecturers and students in the English FKIP area of Riau Islamic University and to find out what factors are obstacles to the learning process between lecturers and students in the use of Google classroom. This research was conducted in the environment of the English Language Faculty FKIP in Riau Islamic University with the consideration that all English language lecturers must teach using media as a teaching and learning activity, one of them is the use of the Google classroom. The results showed that there were several benefits obtained by lecturers and students in teaching and learning activities using Google classroom including: facilitating the learning process, fostering a spirit of participation in the learning process, as a means of communication between lecturers and students, making lessons interesting, stimulating student creativity, and Save cost. The inhibiting factors in the activity are: there is a diversity of levels of understanding of lecturers' diverse eLearning and the face-to-face hours between lecturers and students are less.
