Abstract

This research is motivated by the desire to know the communication behavior of the village head in the implementation of development in the Suka Makmur Village, Gunung Sahilan District, Kampar Regency. Communication behavior that occurs because of the actions or activities of a person or group involved in the communication process, in this case the communication behavior of the village head with village officials and the community is closed communication. Closed communication behavior is an action or reaction taken by someone that cannot be observe by others and the information is stil limited. The type of researcher is a qualitative descriptive type of research with interview data, observation, and documentation. In this study, researchers emphasize more on the communication brhavior of the village head in building the village during the construction of the multipurpose building, related to form of communication behavior, the form of communication behavior here greatly affects the performance of the village head in the construction of the multipurpose building, because if the communication behavior is not good then development will not go well either. This has resulted in several obstacles in building construction carried out by the village head and the community, namely miscommunication, lack of synchronization, and lack of planning in development. The result showed that in this study in Suka Makmur village, the communication behavior of the village head in developing the village in the Gunung Sahilan District, Kampar Regency, was still not good.
