Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the role of leadership in improving the work ethic of employees at the National Amil Zakat Agency of Riau Province. This research is descriptive and the data used are primary and secondary data. Primary data was collected through interviews with employees, while secondary data was obtained from books, the internet, and other media. The analytical method used is a qualitative method. The results of the study are known. Based on research conducted by researchers at the National Amil Zakat Agency of Riau Province, researchers see that the role of leadership in efforts to improve the Islamic work ethic is quite good, this is evidenced by the results of interviews with the Director that the director has fulfilled all the indicators to improve the ethos of employee work. This can be seen from the attitude and method applied as a leader in the National Amil Zakat Agency of Riau Province. A very important role in increasing discipline by always setting a good example, one of the important indicators in a leader is increasing work ethic, because when the work ethic drive has been embedded into a principle for employees it will be reflected in the attitude of discipline in employees, the direction given becomes more enthusiastic about the task in accordance with the obligations of each employee and the work given and affect the responsibility and loyalty to the financial institution where he works so that he can maximize his performance in order to achieve the personal goals of employees or the goals of the financial institution.
