Abstract

One of the reasons behind conducting this research was the amount of zakat collection and its distribution in Rokan Hulu regency had been fluctuating, one of the factors that infuenced the fluctuations was the management of service and zakat distribution applied in Baznas (Zakat Institution) of Rokan Hulu Regency. The formulation of problem in this research is how the management of service and zakat distribution in Baznas of Rokan Hulu Regency, while the purpose of this research is to find out the management of service and zakat distribution in Baznas of Rokan Hulu Regency. The type of this research is descriptive research. To get the valid data, the writer used primary and secondary data sources. Then the data were proceed through the data collection techniques such as documentation and interview. After the data were collected, then they were analyzed by using qualitative method. The results of the research carried out with the Baznas leader of Rokan Hulu Regency show that the management of service provided was good enough, in case of payment and distribution was on time and as targeted, but in case of employees‟ knowledge about zakat was not yet fully understood. However, the distribution of productive and consumptive zakat funds had gone well, and it was in accordance with the needs and expertise possessed by mustahik.
