Abstract

This study aims to find out how big the role of the market in the recruitment of workers in the city of Pekanbaru. Data used in research is secondary data and primary data. The analytical method used is in processing the results of research is to use descriptive methods at where this describes the results of the survey that have been obtained by the research that has been done directly to the research location to get the data needed in this research. The results of this study show from 6 business fields, namely 90 kiosk traders were able to absorb 166 workers, 80 losers were able to absorb 120 workers, 115 street vendors are able to absorb 115 jobs, so from the field of entrepreneurship 285 fields of entrepreneurship were able to absorb 401 workers in In addition, with 7 workers at the market office, porters carried 20 people work as well as parking attendants of 6 workers to be the amount of labor absorption there are 434 in the incense market, so it can be said that the market is very instrumental in the absorption of labor in the city of Pekanbaru.
