Abstract
This study aims to determine the role of land area and oil palm plantation production on employment in Kampar Regency. The research method used for this writing is a descriptive method of analysis that is data from the results of research or research, the data is collected and then processed so that it becomes an overview of the problems analyzed and compared to scientific theories discussed at the same time given conclusions and suggestions. The results of this study indicate that the role of land area and oil palm production on employment in Kampar Regency plays a large role in employment. From 2009 to 2017 the number of workers in the oil palm commodity in Kampar Regency always increased as the land area and production of oil palm plantations in Kampar Regency grew. From 2009 the number of workers was 81,385 people, in 2010 the number of workers became 82,453 people, or an increase of 788 people, in 2011 the number of workers amounted to 86,112 people, or an increase of 3,659 people from the previous year, in 2012 the number of workers employment amounted to 88,692 people, or increased by 2,580 people, in 2013 the number of workers amounted to 88,540 people, in 2013 there was a decline of 152 people, in 2014 the number of workers amounted to 85,342 people, a decrease of 3,198 people, in 2015 the number the workforce numbered 85,405 people, or rose by 63 people, in 2016 the number of workers was 85,749 people, or an increase of 344 people. And in 2017 there will be 85,766 workers, or up to 17 people. Thus the role of land area and production of oil palm plantations plays a large role in the absorption of labor in Kampar Regency.
