Abstract
The purpose of the study was to determine the contribution of leg muscle explosive power to the ability of long jump results of male students of class XI IPS1 of SMAN 14 Pekanbaru. This type of research is correlational research with a population of male students in class XI IPS1 of SMAN 14 Pekanbaru with a population of 20 people. Samples in this research were obtained based on total sampling technique. So that the sample in this study amounted to 20 people. The instrument carried out in this study was leg muscle explosive power test and long jump test. The data analysis technique used is a simple correlation analysis technique. The hypothesis was analyzed with a simple correlation, before carrying out the analysis of the data, the requirements were tested, namely the normality test to find out whether the data came from a population with normal distribution, carried out by the Liliefors test. Based on the hypothesis proposed, the data analysis carried out can be stated, namely, the level of relationship between two variables is tested using the product moment correlation formula. Based on the results of research conducted, it can be concluded that there is a contribution of leg muscle explosive power to the ability of long jump results of male students of class XI IPS1 of SMAN 14 Pekanbaru. 17.42%
