Abstract

This study aims to describe in detail about Child Dance Watan by Sunardi, this research was conducted at the Seri Melayu Kota Art Collection Pekanbaru Riau Province starting from February 15, 2019 to February 28 2019. Anak Watan Dance is a dance originating from the Seri Seni Collection Malay which was created by a choreographer named Sunardi, this work on created in Pekanbaru in 2012 and displayed in the Idrus Art Hall Tintin. The purpose of this work was created for a level dance parade competition Riau Province. This dance tells about people's lives in Empat The Biggest River in Riau is a community activity on the banks of the River that becomes inspiration for choreographers. The analytical theory used is Tjejep's theory Rohendi namely analysis is a system that is systematic, which requires discipline and tenacity. The choreography theory used Sumandiyo Hadi's theory of choreography or "group composition" can be di understand as the art of cooperative dancers, while choreography with dancers single or solo dance, a dancer is more free to dance alone. Dance theory used is Hawkins' theory, namely dance is an expression of the altered human soul by imagination and given shape through the medium of motion so that it becomes a form of motion which is symbiotic and as the expression of the creator. The method used is qualitative method with observation, interview, and data collection techniques documentation aims to find out the elements of dance in Anak Watan's dance.
