Abstract
Water is a cheap and relatively easy source of energy, because in water it stores potential energy (in falling water) and kinetic energy (in running water). Hydropower is the energy obtained from running water. The energy possessed by water can be utilized and used in the form of mechanical energy as well as electric energy. Utilization of water energy is mostly done by using waterwheel and water turbine which utilize existence of a waterfall or water flow in river. Where this potential can not be maximized by the government as a source of energy cheap and renewable. Especially for areas that have not electricity, then the community can take advantage of the potential of this water power as a source of electrical energy. Electrical energy itself is a very important basic necessity where almost all the equipment we use requires electricity as a source of energy. Utilization of the potential of this water power such as the utilization of the flow of river flow as a drive of the mill which is then used to drive the generator to produce electrical energy. Waterwheel is a wheel-shaped mechanical device with a bucket or vane around the edges placed on a horizontal axis. Waterwheels utilize a small natural height difference. The waterwheel used in this study is Undershot type which is a waterwheel that utilizes the flow of river water is flat. The expected result of this research is that we can know the ability of the wheel to receive the load.
