Abstract
This study aims to determine the effect of the Learning Cycle 5E model on mathematics learning outcomes of class VII students of SMP Negeri 17 Pekanbaru on rectangular material. This study began on March 12, 2018. The form of the study was Quasi Experiment (quasi-experimental). The research design used was Nonrandomized Control Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The research population is all students of class VII SMP Negeri 17 Pekanbaru. The sample was chosen using purposive sampling technique. Class VII 3 as an experimental class with 40 students and class VII 2 as a control class with 39 students. Data collection techniques are test and observation techniques. The test is used to see students' mathematics learning outcomes which will be analyzed with descriptive statistics and inferential analysis. Descriptive statistical analysis of knowledge aspects, the average learning outcomes increased, namely the experimental class and the control class.Inferential statistical analysis of post-test data on the aspect of knowledge was obtained = 2,87 and = 1,665 so that means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, so it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Learning Cycle 5E model on mathematics learning outcomes of class VII students of SMP Negeri 17 Pekanbaru.
