Abstract

This study aims to determine the profile of the laboratory and the competence of teachers in the laboratory management of biology year 2017/2018. This research was conducted in to February to April 2018. This research is a descriptive survey of quantitative and qualitative descriptive research. Data collection in this study using observation, documentation,questionare,and interview. The subject of this research is the biology laboratory and the manager of biology laboratory SMP YLPI Perhentian Marpoyan Pekanbaru which amounted to 1 person. From the research result obtained by the research percentage of each laboratory indicator biology that is percentage of competence of laboratory manager science obtained in each aspect respectively that is, qualification aspect 100% with very competent category, aspect of personality competency 81,67% with competent category, social competence aspect 100% very competent category, managerial competence aspect 98,33% category very competent, administratif 100% with very competent categiry, professional competence aspect 94,16% with category very competent. The result showed that the level of ability of laboratory managers science SMP YLPI Perhentian Marpoyan based on Permendiknas No. 26 Tahun 2008 in Pekanbaru academic year 2017/2018 have 95,7% percentage with competent.
