Abstract

AIDS Prevention Commission was established in order to improvethe efforts of preventing and controlling AIDS. It is deemed necessary totake strategic steps to maintain continuity and to avoid the health, social,political and economic impacts as well as to enhance the effectiveness ofcoordination of the AIDS response so that it will be more intensive,thorough and integrated. The objective of the study was to describe the role of the Regional AIDS Commission in tackling AIDS in the District of Meranti Islands. This research is a qualitative study. The result of the research showed that the KPA’s role is tocoordinate all activities related to HIV and AIDS prevention in Meranti Islands. The objectives of this research are to know the efforts made by thegovernment in the municipality to address the prevention and preventionof HIV-AIDS. The type of research used is descriptive qualitative.Technique of collecting data using observation, that is collecting data byconducting direct observation to the object under study, conducting interviews with informants to get as much information as possible byasking some questions about the problems studied and research library bycollecting data through written documents, books , Reports, and legislation which is closely related to this research and supported by secondary data.The result of this research shows.
