Abstract

This study aims to improve the biology learning outcomes of class XI MIA 1 SMAN 1 Siak Kecil by applying the TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) Cooperative Learning Model. This research was conducted from July to August 2022 which was located at SMAN 1 Siak Kecil. The subjects in this study were 30 students of class XI MIA 1 consisting of 25 girls and 5 boys. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of 3 meetings. The data collection technique used was a learning achievement test in the form of LKPD, daily test sheets in the form of 20 objective questions and 5 essay questions, quizzes and homework. From the results of data analysis of students' initial learning outcomes, it showed that there were 16 students who obtained cognitive scores ? 75 with a classical completeness percentage of 53.33%. In the implementation of the first cycle, there were 17 students who scored ? 75 with a classical completeness percentage of 56,66%. In the implementation of cycle II, there were 29 students who scored ? 75 with a completeness percentage of 96.66%. This study also looked at students' learning motivation in biology lessons, during 2 research cycles it was found that students' learning motivation in class XI MIA 1 SMAN Siak Kecil with an average of 63.38% was in the Good category. So it can be concluded that the application of Team Assisted Individualization (TAI) cooperative learning can improve cognitive learning outcomes and learning motivation of class XI MIA 1 SMAN 1 Siak Kecil Academic Year 2022/2023.
