Abstract

Public service innovation is a crucial element in improving the quality of government services to the public. The Department of Population and Civil Registration of Pekanbaru City has introduced an innovation by launching a dedicated website aimed at accelerating the issuance of Child Identity Cards (KIA). This research aims to analyze the innovation implemented by the Department of Population and Civil Registration of Pekanbaru City through this website and its impact on service efficiency. The research method used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. This study focuses on the implementation of technology in public services and how this innovation affects public satisfaction in accessing administrative services. The results show that the website has contributed positively to speeding up the process of issuing Child Identity Cards. Additionally, this innovation is considered effective in reducing queues at the office and making it easier for the public to access services. However, there are some challenges, such as technical issues and a lack of public awareness, especially among those unfamiliar with technology. In conclusion, the innovation through the website for accelerating the issuance of Child Identity Cards in Pekanbaru is an effective step in improving public services. However, there is a need for improvement in public outreach and technical maintenance to achieve more optimal results.
