Abstract

This research aims to find out and analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of disciplinary sanctions for civil servants at the Riau Province Education Service. This research uses a quantitative method with a descriptive research type where primary data is obtained through observation and distribution of questionnaires, secondary data is obtained through interviewing respondents. The population of this study were civil servants from the Riau Province Education Service with a sample of 23 respondents. The sampling technique in this study used the Purposive Sampling technique. In this research, Tangkilisan theory uses indicators, namely Target Achievement, Adaptation Ability, Job Satisfaction and Responsibility. The results of this research show that the effectiveness of the implementation of disciplinary sanctions for civil servants at the Riau Province Education Service is "Quite Effective". The Riau Province Education Office has implemented disciplinary sanctions, namely from the Riau Governor's Regulation Number 59 of 2021 concerning Additional Income for State Civil Service Employees in the Government Environment Riau Province, but these sanctions are quite effective in reducing employees who commit disciplinary violations because many employees are still found committing disciplinary violations on work days, such as employees who do not attend morning assembly, employees who do not come to work in the current month, employees who are late for work on current month, and employees who leave work prematurely. There are factors inhibiting the Implementation of Civil Servant Work Disciplinary Sanctions in the Riau Province Education Service, namely the awareness factor of civil servants, the factor of civil servants' awareness of carrying out their obligations and being committed to not committing disciplinary violations, the political situation contains elements of nepotism, so that the imposition of sanctions is not objective. discipline and permission by superiors for employees to commit disciplinary violations.
