Abstract
Damage to road pavements can lead to various problems such as traffic congestion, accidents, and high maintenance costs. Therefore, it is important to regularly monitor and maintain road conditions. However, in handling road damage, identification is needed to assess the type of damage and the method of handling, so that repairs are targeted. This study aims to determine the damage on Siak Road in Bathin Solapan Subdistrict and the accuracy of road damage data collection using Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) compared to manual surveys. The method used in this research is a direct survey using manual equipment in the form of a meter and taking aerial photography data using a DJI Matrice 300 RTK model UAV. Processing of damage data using the Surface Distress Index (SDI) method. The results of the study found SDI values between the two methods yielded the same figure with an average of 227 and was included in the severely damaged road condition. Collecting damage data using aerial photography takes less time with a time difference of 2 hours 22 minutes to complete a 2 km road section. there is a difference in readings between aerial photographs and manuals where the total area of cracks is lower than 6,49%, the total area of holes and the number of holes is lower than 3,90%. The analysis results using aerial photographs with a 45 MP resolution camera tend to be lower, especially in the type of crack damage. This is because reading small damage on aerial images is quite difficult.
