Abstract

Conversational Implicature in Violating the Maxims of Quality in Radit's Web Series Raditya Dika's YouTube Views The humor that emerges from Radit's web series contains utterances in the form of ridicule and reproach as a form of entertainment. This results in a violation of the maxim of quality and raises an implicature in the conversation. Researchers are interested in conducting research on violations of the maxim of quality and conversational implicatures in Radit's Web Series. The problems of this research are 1) How is the violation of the maxim of quality in Radit's "Radit's Web Series" broadcast on YouTube by Raditya Dika? 2) What are the conversational implicatures that arise based on the violation of the maxim of quality in Radit's YouTube Show "Web Series"? The aims of this research are 1) to explore and elaborate on violations of the maxim of quality in Radit's "Web Series" from Radit Dika's YouTube shows, 2) to explore and elaborate on the conversational implicatures that arise based on violations of the maxims of quality on Radit's "Web Series" from Radit's YouTube shows. The data source for this research is in the form of utterances from conversations between characters in Radit's Web Series, totaling 17 episodes. The data of this study are the utterances of all the characters contained in Radit's Web series, broadcast on YouTube by Raditya Dika, which contain violations of the maxim of quality and conversational implicatures. This study used a qualitative approach and content analysis method. Data collection techniques are documentation techniques, observe, and record. The results of this study found 56 speech data that violated the maxim of quality. 57 data of conversational implicature speeches by division, namely, 46 speeches of special conversational implicatures, 10 utterances of general conversational implicatures, and 1 speech of scaled conversational implicatures. The data obtained shows that the conversational implicature that often appears is the special conversational implicature of telling.
