Abstract

High school students are at the stage of adolescent development. The social aspect of adolescents is very rapid at the age of 16-18 years. This is what makes teenagers interact more and live Intimate Friendships with their peers. One of the factors that can foster self-disclosure is Intimate Friendship. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between Intimate Friendship and self-disclosure in high school students in Marpoyan Damai District. The research subjects were 233 high school students in Marpoyan Peace District. The sampling technique used is Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. The data collection method used the Intimate Friendship scale compiled by Sherly (2019) and the Self Disclosure scale compiled by Salsabila (2019) with a total of 43 items and the Intimate Friendship scale 27 items. The data analysis uses Spearman Rank Order correlation with the results obtained showing the value of the correlation coefficient r = 0.582 with p of 0.000 (p <0.05) it can be said that between Intimate Friendship and Self Disclosure has a positive relationship direction, where the Higher Intimasi Pertemanan will be followed the higher Self Disclosure in SMA N students. And vice versa, the lower Intimate Friendship will be followed, the lower Self Disclosure in SMA N students will be.
