Abstract
The construction of a road section must comply with the concept of a safe road to provide comfort and safety for road users. The main objective of this analysis is to find out the causes of traffic accidents and alternative ways to handle them, as well as the condition of the KM 27 Minas crossroad, whether it meets the concept of a safe road which refers to the Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 22 of 2009, Republic of Indonesia Government Regulation No. 34 of 2006, Regulation of the Minister of Public Works No. 11/PRT/M/2010, and Regulation of the Minister of Public Works No. 19/PRT/M/2011. The methods used in this study are qualitative methods and quantitative methods. In the qualitative method, namely by collecting primary data, secondary data, and literature studies. Furthermore, data processing, analysis and discussion were carried out. While the quantitative method is doing data processing by calculating the data that has been collected, and comparing the calculations in the field with the calculation results of the Road Geometric Design Guidelines No. 13/P/BM/2021. Based on the results of the analysis, the Minas KM 27 causeway shows that there is no existing super-elevation that is the same or close to the permissible super-elevation, namely Mother's 10%, so that the two curves have sub-standard road geometry. In accident-prone areas, road facilities are very minimal, such as the absence of signs, unclear road markings, no lighting and security fences. Along the road there are also no safety lanes and road safety fences. So it can be concluded that the KM 27 Minas road section does not fulfill the concept of a safe road (forgiving road, self-explaining road, and self-enforcement road).
