Abstract
At the time of oil production, usually gas and water will also be produced. Formation water produced must be treated first so that injection problems do not occur. One way to treat formation water is using Graphene Oxide (GO) for formation water treatment. Because graphite powder has a relatively high carbon content, it has a high potential to produce graphene oxide. This study used the Liquid Phase Exfoliation (LPE) method. The process of the LPE method is a process that uses a liquid phase in the form of Linear Alkylbenzene Sulfonate (LAS) surfactant. Then centrifuged at 1000 rpm for 30 minutes. The Graphene Oxide will be tested for FTIR and Uv-Vis. Analysis of formation water treatment using graphene oxide with the sieve method based on variations in the volume of gravel, sand, carbon and graphene oxide. This absorbent on graphene oxide is promising for water treatment because of the functional groups which contain oxygen as well as being simpler, the level of water treatment is better at an economical price. FTIR characterization showed that the bonds were C=C, C=O, C-O and O-H. The presence of these 4 chemical bonds proved that the synthesized graphite powder had become graphene oxide at a frequency of 1,558 cm-1. UV-Vis characterization showed a peak at 205 nm. The water treatment process is carried out with a filter design using a two-way flow combination filter system, namely the upflow direction and the downflow direction using variations in the volume of gravel, sand and carbon. The best results are variation 3 compared to variation 1 and variation 2. The laboratory test results for variation 3 have ionic compound values, namely pH 7.94, TDS 14.61 mg/L, and turbidity 4.91 NTU, which have met the standardization of water quality standards, while variation 1 and variation 2, the value of ionic turbidity compounds does not meet the standardization of water quality standards. Formation water treatment using Graphene Oxide (GO) as an additional filter can improve the quality of water treatment. The best sieve volume variation test results in the treatment process variation 6 compared to variations 4 and variations 5. Based on laboratory test results, variation 6 has ionic compound values, namely pH 7.08, TDS 7.51 mg/L, Turbidity 3.76 NTU, DHL 21 .78 dS/m, oil and grease .<5 mg/L, Fe 0.193 mg/L, Mg 28.21 mg/L, Ca 32.76 mg/L, SO4 10 mg/L, CO3 16.25 mg/ L and HCO3 236.5 mg/L have met the standardization of water quality standards in absorbing ion content to the maximum. While variations 4 and 5 have met the standardization of water quality standards, but the smaller the concentration of ionic compound values, the better. So variation 6 is able to absorb ion concentrations to a smaller value than variations 4 and 5.
