Abstract
Technological developments have an impact on various aspects, one of which is education. Educator are required to be able to use active, creative and innovative learning media by following technological developments. This situation encourages some parties to use fun learning media such as YouTube because it is believed that learning using YouTube is fun because it can use more than one learning platform so that it makes the learning process fun. The purpose of this research was to find out how students perception of using YouTube as a learning media at fourth semester students of English Department FKIP UIR. This research method is qualitative with a descriptive approach. This research uses a questionnaire as a research instrument to answer the researcher's questions. There are 20 questions and use a Likert scale for measurement. The research sample consisted of 30 fourth semester students English department Universita Islam Raiu. The results in this research on the convenience YouTube media indicator obtained 80% results included in the positive category. On the indicator the benefits YouTube media gets 81,3% results including in the positive category. The results of this research found that student perceptions were in the positive category, meaning that the use of YouTube as a learning media was good for helping students in the learning process. The researcher concludes that YouTube is a good media and can be applied in teaching English to the fourth semester Students English department FKIP UIR.
