Abstract
In the process of cultivating broiler chickens, in addition to high capital and high risk, the farmer's ability also affects the breeder's income. Social and economic factors are internal and external factors that affect income. The purpose of this study was to analyze, (1) farmer characteristics and business profile, (2) production costs, production, revenue, income, and efficiency of broiler chicken farming, (3) socio-economic factors that affect the income of broiler breeders, in Siak Hulu Subdistrict, Kampar District, Riau Province. This research was conducted from April to September 2022 in Siak Hulu District, using the survey method, location determination was carried out with the consideration that there was a decrease in the broiler chicken population and there was a partnership pattern broiler farming business. Respondents were taken by the census, namely by conducting and surveying the entire area of Siak Hulu Subdistrict. The number of respondents obtained was 31 breeders. The analysis used is an analysis of breeder characteristics and business profile, farming analysis, and multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the average age of broiler breeders was 35 years, the education level was 11 years, the farming experience was 6 years, the number of family members was 3 people, the partnership system used a contract system, the business scale was smallholder farm scale, the business capital used was own capital. in the provision of cages and tools, loan capital is obtained from the core company. The average production of broiler chickens is 8,927 kg/production period, the average gross powder production is 130 sacks/production period, the average production of chicken manure is 254 sacks/production period, the average total production cost per production period is used by breeders Rp. 170,127,624/production period, average broiler revenue of Rp. 193,642,339/production period, average broiler breeder income of Rp. 23,514,714/production period, the RCR of broiler chicken farming is 1.14 indicating business broiler chicken farming is feasible. Multiple linear regression analysis shows a Fsign of 0.000, indicating simultaneously that socio-economic factor variables affect the income of broiler breeders, Adjusted-R Square (R2) of 0.985 means that 98.50% of the up-and-down variation in income can be explained by the variables arranged in the regression model, while 1.50% is explained by other variables. Significantly (significant) factors that affect the income of broiler breeders are DOC costs and feed costs.
