Abstract

Guava farming is an activity that is easy to do, this business does not require too much land. Farmers can get quite a big profit because the price of guava is quite high. This study aims to analyze: (1) Knowing the characteristics of guava farmers in West Perawang Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency (2) Knowing the structure of household income of guava farmers in West Perawang Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency, (3) Knowing the household expenses of guava farmers in West Perawang Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency, (4) knowing the dominant factors that influence the expenditure of guava farmers in West Perawang Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency. The method used in this study is a survey. This research was conducted in West Perawang Village, Tualang District, Siak Regency. Respondents in this study were all guava farmers, totaling 31 farmers. The analysis tool used qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that the characteristics of guava farmers based on the average age of farmers were 42.70 years, then in terms of education the average farmer had education for 9.53 years, in terms of experience in farming the average for 7.57 years, and of the number of family members who are supported by farmers, there are an average of 4 people. The largest household income is income from guava farming, which is Rp. 3,465,984.77/month or Rp. 41,591,817/year (81.00%), with an average farmer income of Rp. 4,278,887.99/month or Rp. 51,346,656/ year. The average guava farmer household expenditure is Rp. 32,272,606 / year which is spread over food and non-food household expenses. On average household food expenditure of Rp. 1,517,875.27/month or Rp. 18,214,503/year (56.44%) for non-food household expenditure an average of Rp. 2.686.819,18/bulan atau Rp.32.241.830,11/year (63,90% ). The dominant factors that affect household income of guava farmers are income and the number of family members.
