Abstract
zoning is the division or splitting of an area into several parts, in accordance with the functions and objectives of management, a new student admission system based on the area where the student lives in question. The application of the zoning system to the acceptance of new students in Pekanbaru City has entered its third year of implementation. Admission of New Students The zoning system should aim to break the disparity in the quality of education and also be able to break the barriers between favorite schools and suburban schools, however, in fact in Pekanbaru City there are still excellent and non-seeded schools and affect the interest of prospective students in choosing the desired school. . This type of research is descriptive qualitative with data obtained from key informants and additional informants. Selection of informants as sources of research data using purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through interviews, observations and documentation and this research was carried out in a special house for fishermen in the Teluk Batil village. In this research, descriptive method is used, namely the collected data is classified according to its type and form and then presented descriptively. Based on the results of the research and discussion, the results of the study concluded that the evaluation of the Zoning System Policy for New Student Admissions (PPDB) at the State Junior High School in Pekanbaru City was based on the indicators of Effectiveness, Efficiency, Adequacy, Equity, Responsiveness, and Accuracy. This research is going well and is increasing every year..
