Abstract
This study was conducted to test the measurement of financial ratios. There are CAR (Capital Adequacy Ratio), NPL (Non Performing Loans), ROA (Return on Assets), BOPO (operational expenses/operational revenue) LDR (Loan to Deposit Ratio), PIN (loan to total assets), CAP (total equity to total assets) and NIM (net income to productive assets) to the bankruptcy prediction on private banks in Indonesia 2008-2013. Sampling of this study using purposive sampling method, the sample of 45 private banks in accordance with the criteria specified by the study period from 2008 to 2013, the data obtained from Bank Indonesia Banking Directory. The method of analysis used to test the research hypothesis is logistic regression. The results showed that the CAR, NPL, ROA, LDR, PIN, CAP, BOPO and NIM have power of classification predictive power for the condition of banks experiencing financial distress. From the results of the analysis show that the partial results of the NPL and the LDR and PIN affect the prediction of bank bankruptcy. The results of this study indicate that the loan is the principal business activity of the bank has a determining prediction influence on the banks bankruptcy. The results of logistic regression showed the predictive ability of the 8 independent variables to the prediction of bankruptcy in the banking sector amounted to 44.4%.
