Abstract

Government of Riau through Diskominfotik of Riau Province has adapted to use technology for public communication. The purpose of this study is to determine the optimizing digital technology usage as a means of public communication. The approach used is qualitative with exploratory study method. Data collection techniques namely observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman, and technique validity of the data uses triangulation. The results show that public communication carried out by Diskominfotik of Riau Province went through a number of stages. The first stage is collecting data from various sources. The next stage is data analysis and presenting it in a content which will be disseminated to the public. After the content is ready, then it is distributed to all media channels of Government of Riau including the website mediacenter.riau.go.id, Riau’s social media government and also online radio broadcast.
