Abstract
The Kuok II irrigation area has an area of about 200 hectares of rice fields, the source of irrigation water is supplied from the Kuok II irrigation river. The problem of water availability in this irrigation area based on pre-research in the field indicated a lack of water availability, where only 50% of the land can be irrigated during the dry season this is due to the shrinking water discharge in the Kuok II irrigation river. This water balance calculation is used to evaluate the availability of water and determine the condition of an area experiencing a deficit or surplus. The analysis was carried out from secondary data, namely the hydrological analysis of the average rainfall of the area. After that, evapotranspiration analysis was calculated using the Penman approach, irrigation water requirements were analyzed using the KP-01 method. Followed by the Thornwhaite & Mather method of water availability analysis, a comparative analysis of the water balance of the demand and availability of irrigation water was carried out using the general balance method. The Kuok II Irrigation Area (D, I) consists of 215.71 hectares of potential rice fields, with an estimated water requirement of 244.59 l/day. The irrigation water needs are calculated during the land preparation period where the highest IR value occurs in March period II, namely , 470.71 l/s/ha, the minimum irrigation water requirement occurred in January period 1, namely, 12.65 l/s/ha, water discharge in Kuok II irrigation based on the Run Off calculation, able to meet the needs with a total availability of 851.94 l/sec, The magnitude of the difference between the water demand in the fields and the availability of water from irrigation sources is 381.23 l/sec where the Run Off value is greater than irrigation water needs, so that the available discharge meets irrigation water needs. From the analysis of the calculation of the need and availability of irrigation water, it is found that the availability of water in the Kuok II Irrigation Area is able to meet the water needs for rice fields. This is based on the value of the Run Off in the 2010-2020 period, the estimated water demand of 244.59 l/day and the availability of water discharge in Kuok II irrigation based on the calculation of the RUN Off of 851.94 l/day so that the available discharge meets irrigation water needs.
