Abstract

The environment is an absolute part that cannot be separated from human life. As a developing country the number of industries is growing very rapidly. This must be supported by regulations and good management. One of them is the sago industry with a large number of factories and a lot of production which will certainly produce waste from the processing of the sago. Disposal of waste that is not in accordance with the rules and exceeds the limits of environmental quality standards will certainly damage the life or environment around the waste disposal site and the need for a law enforcement process that is in accordance with the order of the law by the local government. The formulation of the problem in this research is how the Law Enforcement Process for Criminal Pollution of Sago Plant Waste in the Meranti Islands Regency Is Viewed From Law Number 32 Year 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management? And How is Corporate Accountability in the Crime of Pollution of Sago Plant Waste in Meranti Islands Regency Viewed From Law Number 32 Year 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management ?? This research when viewed from the type of research is classified as normative legal research, namely research to study and explore and look for answers to what should be the problems studied, consisting of 3 (three) legal materials, namely primary, secondary and tertiary. Whereas when viewed from its nature this research is descriptive, namely research that explains in clear and detailed sentences regarding juridical reviews. From the results of the research and discussion it can be concluded that, first, in the Process of Enforcing the Criminal Pollution of Sago Mill Waste in Meranti Islands Regency Viewed From Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management of Police Investigators assisted by Civil Servant Investigators from the Ministry of Environment Life. Second, corporations in terms of environmental law enforcement are legal subjects who can be held to hold criminal responsibility that have been committed.
