Abstract

Prostitution is a disease of society that has existed from ancient times until now. This activity is very difficult to eradicate even more the economic factors that require this work to be carried out by commercial sex. Prostitution, which is still exist in the midst of society, has had a huge negative impact on the surrounding community. This illegitimate act is still carried out in Sam-sam, Pinggir Sub-District, Bengkalis Regency, which is one of the places where localization is still ongoing because it is difficult for the authorities and the government to close the place with many considerations that must be carefully considered. This study aims to answer the related problems about the causes of the practice of prostitution in the same sub-district of the district of Bengkalis and efforts to reduce the practice of prostitution at the same level as the edge of the district of Bengkalis. The type of research used in this study is Research Observational by survey. Judging from its nature, this study is in the descriptive research category. Sources of data in this study are primary and secondary data. The method of drawing conclusions in this study uses inductive methods by drawing from general things to things that are specific. From the results of this study the authors observed that the cause of the practice of prostitution in the sub-districts of the district of Bengkalis was an economic factor which was a fundamental reason felt by commercial sex workers and pimps. Furthermore there are family factors that trigger them to practice prostitution such as Broken Home. Environmental factors also have a great influence on the survival of someone who has a negative or positive effect on each individual. and the last is a lifestyle factor that requires commercial sex workers to join into the world of prostitution for the sake of a well-off life. And efforts by law enforcers to overcome the practice of prostitution in the same sub-district, namely by preventive measures such as counseling against the dangers of HIV / AIDS in the community as well as in schools and repressive efforts such as handling sex workers who have contracted venereal disease. and the Satpol PP carried out custody like a raid on the place of prostitution.
