Abstract

The purpose in this research examined to know there was any influence of discovery learning model on students’ class VIII active learning in Islamic education lesson at Islamic junior high school Bustanul Ulum Pekanbaru. The method used in this research was correlational quantitative research. The subject in this research was students at Islamic junior high school Bustanul Ulum Pekanbaru. The object in this research was the influence of discovery learning model on students’ calss VIII active learning in Islamic education lesson at Islamic junior high school Bustanul Ulum Pekanbaru. The population in this research was 137 students and sampling in 102 students. Data collection technique used questionnaire and documentation. Based on data analysis, it was known that there was any influence of discovery learning model on students’ class VIII active learning in Islamic education lesson at Islamic junior high school Bustanul Ulum Pekanbaru. It based on simple linear regression analysis result with significant score 0.000 and 0.000 was smaller than 0.05, and the hypothesis was accepted. The influence score of discovery learning model was 0.417 or 41.7% in middle category, because it was in range 0.40-0.599 that stated in correlation coefficient interpretation table, meanwhile others 58.3% was influenced by others factors. Also the hypothesis was accepted. The relationship level of discovery learning model on students’ class VIII active learning in Islamic education lesson at Islamic junior high school Bustanul Ulum Pekanbaru in middle category.
