Abstract
The background of this experimental research is the low student learning outcomes in class X IPS SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru which is influenced by the lack of student participation in learning activities so that teacher-centered learning results in low student learning outcomes. The research used was cooperative research of the Think Pair Share (TPS) type at SMA Negeri 10 Pekanbaru, so a quasi-experimental design research was used, commonly called a mock experiment, which divided the class into 2 parts, namely the control class and the experimental class. The control class was taught using conventional learning models and the experimental class was taught using the Think Pair Share ( TPS) learning model. So that the students' learning completeness before being given learning in the experimental class was 58.3% and in the control class was 52.5%, while student learning outcomes after being given learning in the experimental class were 77.9% and the control class were 57.9%. so that the total percentage increase in student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 19% and the percentage increase in the control class was 5.4%. So it can be concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes in the experimental class using the Think Pair Share (TPS) learning model.
