Abstract
The Riau Provincial Government seeks to maintain food security and increase agricultural productivity. The application of IP 200 is one way to increase productivity and lowland rice production. This study aimed to: (1) Analyze the characteristics of IP 200 irrigated paddy farmers. (2) Analyze IP 200 irrigated paddy cultivation techniques. (3) Analyze production costs, production, income, and efficiency of IP 200 irrigated paddy farming. ( 4) Analyzing the factors that influence farmers' decisions in irrigated rice farming by applying IP 200. The study used survey methods. The number of research samples is 30 rice farmers taken at simple random. Data were analyzed descriptively qualitatively and quantitatively and factor analysis using SPSS. The results of the study explain that (1) The average age of the farmer is 54 years, the level of education is 10 years, the experience of farming is 21 years and the number of dependents in the family is 2 people. The status of land ownership is self-owned, the average cultivated area is 0.27 ha, the planting pattern used is jajar legowo, and the rice varieties used are Cisokan and PB 42. (2) IP 200 irrigated rice cultivation techniques are by theory. (3) The total cost of irrigated rice paddy IP 200 is Rp. 1,970,848,- and a net income of Rp. 2.888.652,-. The efficiency of irrigated rice farming with IP 200 is 2.47. (4) The results of factor analysis of the 13 variables studied, 8 variables make up 3 factors, while 5 variables consisting of the number of family dependents, farmers' income, availability of inputs, government support, and the role of agricultural extension workers must be excluded in the analysis because 5 variables do not meet the requirements for factor analysis. Factors formed are (1) factors of infrastructure, age, and education. The components of this factor consist of variables of irrigation availability, availability of machinery, age, and length of education; (2) place, experience, and input factors. The compilers of this factor consist of variables of land area, farming experience, and types of seeds used; and (3) land ownership factor. The constituent of this factor consists of the variable of land ownership. The most dominant factor is the factor of infrastructure, age, and education which can explain the total variance of 42.998%.
