Abstract
Muslim K-Pop fans in Indonesia perform different behaviors in liking their idols, ranging from ordinary to pathological. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between attachment to god and celebrity worship on K-Pop fans. The subjects of this research are 122 K-Pop fans in Indonesia who are muslim. The sampling technique used Accidental Sampling. The data collection method used the Muslim Spiritual Attachment Scale (M-SAS) scale adapted by Siregar (2021) which amounted to 16 items and the Celebrity Attitude Scale (CAS) scale adapted by Fajariyani (2018) which amounted to 40 items. Data were analyzed using Spearman Rank Order correlation. The results of this study indicate that only attachment to god, the positive dimension of the model of god, has a significant negative relationship with celebrity worship, while the other dimensions, namely proximity, positive model of self, and separation protest, have an insignificant relationship. Thus, attachment to god has a role in celebrity worship.
