Abstract
This study discusses how the Interpersonal Communication between the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and the Illegal traders in the Mandau Market, Duri City. Due to the difficulty of finding jobs, many people have turned to be Illegal traders. However, because these Illegal traders are quite disturbing the road, then a policy is made regarding general decisions. And this policy is socialized by Satpol PP to traders. This research is about Interpersonal Communication by using Qualitative Method. This study aims to analyze the Interpersonal Communication of Satpol PP in controlling Illegal Traders, and to find out the supporting and inhibiting factors in the Interpersonal Communication that is carried out. In collecting data, the researcher used the technique of Observation, Interview and Documentation. The data validity technique uses triangulation. The results showed that members of the Satpol PP used interpersonal communication in controlling Illegal traders. It can be seen that there are still many characteristics of interpersonal communication that are not in accordance with the wishes of the community and these Illegal traders. And the inhibiting factor that causes disruption of the control of wild traders is the lack of awareness of traders.
