Abstract
This study aims to see the process of adaptation and intercultural communication of the Balinese people in kandis siak regency. especially the balinese people when they first occupy a new environment and a new culture and have to adapt. Balinese people find cultural differences so that they feel difficulties When dealing with people who have previously been met so that it causes disturbances resulting in anxiety, fear so that the Balinese people must overcome it by adapting and communicating. The adaptation process has four stages, namely one stage of excitement or honeymoon stage, the second stage is the disappointment stage, the third stage is the initial stage of resolution or the initial adjustment process, and the fourth stage is the continuous adjustment stage. In this study, researchers used descriptive qualitative research methods. The adaptation process carried out by the community is by getting closer to the majority community and trying to understand different cultures so that divisions do not occur. By trying to carry out this adaptation process and communication process, it can be seen that the Balinese people can adapt well to various existing cultures.
