Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out and explain the Role of the Department Of Labor And Population Resettlement in Dumai City. In addition, it aims to determine the inhibiting factors of the Department Of Labor And Population Resettlement in the development of workers in the city of Dumai. The research method used is qualitative. Data analysis was carried out descriptively, and data processing techniques were carried out using the tri angulation method, data were obtained from observations, interviews, and documentatiSon. The results of the study show that the role of the Department Of Labor And Population Resettlement in Dumai City is in the category of quite influential. This can be seen from the not too optimal Department Of Labor And Population Resettlement in carrying out its duties and authority in the development of workers in the city of Dumai. As for the inhibiting factors of the Department Of Labor And Population Resettlement in human resources development in Dumai City is a lack of policies made by the Dumai City Department Of Labor Office in the effort of human resources development, lack of socialization carried out by the Department Of Labor Office in an effort to foster and train workers and job seekers, the lack of facilities and infrastructure of the Department Of Labor Office in an effort to reduce unemployment in Dumai City.
