Abstract
Analysis of the feasibility of growing orchid business to see how far growing an orchid business can generate profit for entrepreneurs. The purpose of this research is to analyze: 1). Characteristics of entrepreneurs and business profiles of growing Cattleya orchids 2). Non-financial feasibility of growing Cattleya orchids 3). Financial feasibility of growing Cattleya orchid business 4). Sensitivity level of growing Cattleya orchid business. Case study research methods was used and carried out in Pandau Jaya Village, Siak Hulu sub district, Kampar Regency, Riau Province for 6 months which start in July-December 2021. The population in this study are entrepreneurs growing cattleya orchids. The technique of determining the respondents was by census. Data analysis using descriptive quantitative and qualitative. The results showed that the entrepreneur's age was 45 years, the entrepreneur's education level was 15 years and the number of family the entrepreneur's was 2 persons. The profile of growing Cattleya orchid business was a small-scale business with the aim of making a profit and capitalizing on equity. The results of the non-financial feasibility analysis of growing cattleya orchid business are feasible based on marketing market aspects, technical aspects and management aspects, and environmental aspects are feasible, was feasible in legal aspect because it has not business license. The results of the financial feasibility analysis of the growing cattleya orchid business are feasible because they have investment criteria with an NPV value of Rp. 106,059,034 > 0, , IRR 39% > interest rate applicable, Net B/C 4.70 > 1 and PP for 3 years 9 months 29 days from the projected life of project. Based on sensitivity, growing cattleya orchid business was more sensitive to a decrease in the selling price of orchids by 4.25% compared to an increase in input prices of 4.25%, with an NPV of 49,000,577, an IRR of 33%, Net B/C of 3.97 PP for 4 years 5 months 14 days.
