Abstract

This is a qualitative study with a case study approach. The background of the study is that the factors that cause a lack of moral guidance because the parents are less attention, lack of supervision and less attention to their children's playmates. As the parents are too busy working, so the efforts should be done by the parents are teaching their children to respect older people especially the parents, spending time with their children, guide them, watch them, and motivate them. In fostering children’s morals, these actions are very influential to be conducted in everyday life especially in Teratak Buluh Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. The subject of the study is the parents and children in Teratak Buluh Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. The object of the study is the morals of children aged 7-13 years in Teratak Buluh Village, Siak Hulu District, Kampar Regency. The results of the study show that: some of the parents still care about the moral progress of children, they always apply religious values such as: Habituating the children to pray in congregation in early prayer times, instilling honesty in the children, teaching the children good ethics and morals, teaching the children to recite the Quran, pray, and fast, bringing children to good environments such as mosques, joining Islamic study groups and donating to orphanages, making sure that the children having good associations, guiding the children to always get closer to Allah and Islam, always paying attention to the children’s association and children’s behaviors, giving more time and attention to children, providing a good and religious environment and providing guidance/direction to children in a good way. Things that have to know that sometimes the children behave well or badly. It shows that the parents should have a very important role in children’s morals in instilling or pursuing children’s morals, so the parents should continue to guide and supervise their children in order to make the children keep having good morals.
