Abstract

Teacher's pedagogic competence is a very important thing to have for a teacher because it leads to the ability of the teacher in drafting and implementing learning strategies that are in accordance with the competencies, characteristics and needs of students in learning. The phenomenon that I found in MTs Al-Marzuqin Simpang Tiga Pekanbaru academic supervision carried out by the Principal was good enough but the teacher's pedagogical competence was not entirely good such as the lack of communication between students and teachers in the classroom, lazy to use a variety of methods. Therefore the authors want to examine the Effect of Academic Supervision of Principals on Teacher Pedagogical Competencies at Al-Marzuqin MTs Simpang Tiga Pekanbaru. The formulation of this research is: is there any influence of the principal's academic supervision on the teacher's pedagogical competence? This type of research is quantitative, namely data in the form of numbers. The data collection technique used is using two ways: questionnaire and documentation. The conclusion in this study is that there is a significant effect between the principal's academic supervision of the teacher's pedagogical competence based on the ANNOVA table obtained by the probability value Sig. amounting to 0,000. Because the significance value is smaller than 0.05, which is 0.00 <0.05, meaning that there is an effect of Principal Academic Supervision on teacher Pedagogical Competencies. From the product moment table data for n = 11 at a significant level of 5% it is known that r table = 0.602 and r count = 0.774 so that r count> r table. With the degree of closeness the effect of KP = r ^ 2x100% = 0.774x0,774x100% = 59% which means enough. This shows that the better the academic supervision of the principal, the better the pedagogical competence of the teacher.
